В компании Сity Interactive знают, как подарить уникальный игровой опыт. Об этом писали все, кто мог писать. Первая Ghost Warrior местами была невероятно, космически хардкорной игрой. Например, однажды требовалось перебежать поле. К тому времени уже успела подняться тревога, и противники-психопаты вовсю выпрыгивали из кустов. Сложность заключалась в том, что пересечь поле казалось невозможным долгие часы, потому что кто-то постоянно убивал из автомата, находясь на расстоянии километра, в зарослях. Так что снайперами в игре являлись поголовно все.
Тем удивительнее, что продалась Ghost Warrior тиражом свыше миллиона копий. Продолжение было неизбежно. На горизонте уже маячил какой-нибудь типичный, быстро сделанный сиквел, такой же непредсказуемый и реалистичный…. Но все вышло намного интереснее. Вторая часть в трэш не метит. Заработав Много Денег и поняв, что «мы можем», разработчики решили переписать свою репутацию, начать как бы с чистого листа, покончить с темным прошлым.
Для начала они приобрели CryEngine 3. Затем Crytek щедро поделилась с ними опытом. И понеслось. Выкрутив яркость, плюнув на «реалистичность», в Сity Interactive принялись нещадно живописать, едва ли не уделывая самих немцев. Версия, которая демонстрировалась на «ИгроМире 2011», была очень, очень сырой, но даже такой она буквально поражала. Серьезно. Даже сейчас не верится, что такие красочные, детализированные, весьма стильные локации создала компания, которую долгие годы заслуженно ругали все и за всё. Травка такая радужная, водичка так бурлит, солнышко так светит, а горы – прям Саврасов. Начинаешь понимать, почему авторы столь сильно хвалили новую технологию и называли ее одной из лучших для создания игр.
На данный момент занавес поднят лишь над одной локацией – Тибетом. Она появится ближе к концу сингла. Но за десять часов сюжетной кампании игрока основательно помотает по миру. Он побывает, к примеру, в Сараево 1993-го – во время печально известной осады. Именно там, посреди грязи и несправедливости, начнется сюжет. Урбанистические джунгли сменятся на джунгли обычные, тропические. Планируются даже «снежные» карты. Так что масштаб вполне соответствует планке качества, поставленной Modern Warfare.
Смена движка повлияла не только на визуальную часть. Изменится в лучшую сторону баллистика оружия, влияние ветра и прочих факторов станет адекватнее. Наконец, заметно поумнеет искусственный интеллект. Исчезнет фантастическая меткость противников, которая описывалась в начале статьи, им станут нечуждыми тактика и чувство самосохранения. И не нужно будет бояться, что из-за поднятого шума к вам сбегутся враги со всей локации.
Вообще поиграть в Рэмбо уже толком не получится. Разработчики серьезно отнеслись к критике, а потому полностью убрали «быстрый экшен». Теперь только стелс и стрельба из снайперских винтовок. Ползаем по кустам, тремся пузом о землю, выжидаем в укромных местах, задерживаем дыхание, стреляем. Или подкрадываемся к противнику, берем нож и бесшумно зарезаем его, как курицу. Впрочем, здесь есть немного лукавства – стрельба в открытую совсем чуть-чуть, но будет. В какой-то момент придется сойтись в отважной схватке… с вертолетом.
Снайперская жизнь вообще обещает быть нескучной. Фишка с «камерой, следящей за пулей» будет доработана – чтобы каждый такой виртуозный выстрел выглядел брутальным спектаклем. Можно будет отстреливать конечности – руки, ноги, все долой. Обещается целый набор разнообразных гаджетов, а в ночные вылазки героя будут снабжать фантастическим тепловизором. Периодически даже доведется управлять экзотическим транспортом.
Окончательно избавить от тоски должен напарник-корректировщик. Его присутствие сделает некоторые эпизоды более линейными, но открытые пространства никуда не пропадут. И, наверное, нет ничего странного в том, что периодически будут возникать типичные ситуации из Call of Duty – мол, «ты бери того, кто справа, а я того, что слева». Только хочется верить, что на этом взаимодействие с персонажем не закончится.
С многопользовательскими режимами ситуация более туманная. Разработчики думали о кооперативе, но, похоже, они еще сами не решили, будет он или нет. Вот мультиплеер никуда не денется, но подробностей авторы пока не хотят раскрывать. Говорят лишь о том, что в нем будет один-единственный класс – снайпер. Но, чтобы сделать бои более динамичными, чтобы это не был один бесконечный многочасовой кемпинг, они заставят игроков, допустим, захватывать флаги или еще что-нибудь. В общем, придется немного побегать.
Так что над Ghost Warrior 2 работы идут серьезные. Лишь бы вместо старых душещипательных ошибок не появились новые, парадоксальные и античеловечные. Ну и увлекательный сюжет не помешает. Его, конечно, стоит ждать в последнюю очередь, но разработчики обещают, что да, не обойдется без хорошей истории. Ага. Кивнем и подождем. В любом случае, происходящие перемены с Сity Interactive – то еще шоу. Очень хочется знать, чем оно закончится.
