Ubisoft посвятила инвесторов и аналитиков в детали своего финансового положения, отчитавшись за период с 1-го апреля 2010-го по 31-е марта 2011-го года. С одной стороны, все хорошо, продажи игр издательства увеличились на здоровые 19 процентов по сравнению с прошлым годом, что в денежном эквиваленте вылилось в 1,48 миллиарда заработанных долларов. А с другой – финансовый год Ubisoft все равно закончила с убытками в размере 74 миллионов долларов. В красную зону бедных французов утянул болезненный процесс реструктуризации и отмена разработки нескольких «неанонсированных» проектов.
Самой прибыльной платформой для Ubisoft, что удивительно, стала Wii – 38% от общего дохода приходится на игры для консоли Nintendo. Французам подсобили в этом году танцевальная серия Just Dance (продажи перевалили за десять миллионов копий) и Michael Jackson: The Experience, которой удалось разойтись в количестве трех миллионов копий. Казуальные проекты для Kinect и PlayStation Move многомиллионных вершин не покорили, но смогли отбить затраты на свое производство и принести компании денежку. То же самое касается и первых игр для 3DS – их запуск признан «успешным».
Вклад Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood в казну тоже приличный – 7,2 миллионов проданных копий. Правда, это на 800 тысяч копий меньше, чем у Assassin’s Creed 2 за аналогичный промежуток времени. Увы, отсутствие роста – тревожный звоночек. А значит, появление полноценной Assassin’s Creed 3 в следующем году просто неизбежно. Общие продажи всех франчайзов «Юби» выглядят так.
Что там насчет будущего? В ближайшие 365 дней французы намерены сохранить и укрепить свои позиции в танцевальном/казуальном жанре за счет портирования Just Dance на другие платформы, продолжить освоение онлайнового PC-рынка (к Settlers Online и Might & Magic: Heroes Kingdoms присоединится бесплатная MMO-игра для девочек в нежном возрасте Imagine Online) и развивать «хардкорное» направление. К последнему пункту стоит присобачить Driver: San Francisco, Rayman Origins, Call of Juarez: The Cartel и Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
Отдельно французы пролили свет на судьбу своих анонсированных, но давно не показывавшихся в высшем свете игр. Паника отменяется, разработка I Am Alive и Beyond Good & Evil 2 не была отменена, а напротив – продолжается, пусть и очень медленно. Больше ничего нового на тему двух проектов Ubisoft не сказала. Французы ограничились лишь тем, что подтвердили жизненный статус парочки. Нам же остается только слабо надеяться на то, что оба проекта предстанут хоть в какой-нибудь форме на E3 2011.
