Первой идею использования OLED-диплеев в клавиатуре предложила студия Лебедева. Она заключалась в интегрировании миниатюрных светодиодных дисплеев в каждую клавишу, что позволяло создать любую раскладку для клавиатуры, как угодно переназначать клавиши и без труда находить их. К сожалению, цена решения от Лебедева оказалась слишком велика для большинства потребителей. Теперь эту идею использовала в своем последнем игровом продукте компания OCZ.Ее новая игровая клавиатура Sabre OLED содержит отдельный блок переназначаемых клавиш, расположенный с левой стороны. В каждой из девяти кнопок этого блока есть монохромный OLED-дисплей, способный отображать простые схематичные изображения – своеобразные иконки. Комплектное программное обеспечение позволяет создать такие иконки из любой пользовательской картинки и назначить их определенным клавишам. Функциональность этих клавиш может динамически меняться в зависимости от запущенного приложения. Стоит также обратить внимание на подсветку боковых граней устройства.
В остальном – это вполне традиционная клавиатура со стандартной раскладкой, 103 клавишами и качественной сборкой. Для хранения иконок и пользовательских профилей в ней имеется 128 МБ флэш-памяти. Угол наклона устройства может изменяться на 5° или 10°. Согласно официальным данным, клавиатура создает не много шума, даже во время самой напряженной игры.
